The Hotel

In Courchevel 1850, on the Bellecote run, Saint Roch does not announce itself, it reveals itself.

The moment you cross the threshold, something shifts: the light softens, the materials absorb sound, the proportions draw close just enough to create a rare sense of intimacy.

What one discovers then belongs to a singular imaginary: that of oriental dachas, winter houses inhabited by chosen objects, brushed wood, muted velvet, rugs with irregular fibres. Interiors that carry the trace of time and travel, spaces where nothing is neutral, nothing merely decorative.

A place built through layers of perception: materials, light, artworks… that reveals itself gradually to those willing to slow down. This is not a hotel one visits but a house one inhabits, quietly.

Key Features

The Friedmann & Versace studio shaped the decoration of Saint Roch with a precise and deeply material-driven approach.

Their guiding principle: not a hotel in the expected sense, but a lived-in interior. Slightly lowered ceilings create a sense of closeness. Circulation is narrow, the scale remains human. One is never impressed, one is held.

Light is never direct. It grazes the volumes, underlines a texture, carves a shadow. The space lives differently through the hours: the pale morning light of snow, the low glow of après-ski, the warm reflections of the fire at night.

Rooms & Suites

Each conceived as a true living space, never simply as a hotel room.

Each space functions as an inhabited cabinet of curiosities: objects gathered along the way, original artworks chosen one by one, light designed to accompany rather than illuminate.

Nothing is merely decorative. Everything has been placed so that the guest recognises something of themselves, settles in, loses track of time.

From the Superior room to the privatisable fifth-floor Penthouse, the language remains the same: an intimacy that reveals itself over the course of a stay, never all at once.

Rooms

The space organises itself with quiet generosity. A separate resting area, light designed for slow hours, a mountain view that accompanies without seeking effect.

Prestige Suites

On the fifth floor, up to 70 sqm, fully privatisable. Spaces connect, volumes reveal themselves. Through each window, the mountain appears in fragments: a ridgeline, a shifting sky. An address within the address, for those who wish to inhabit Saint Roch in its full dimension.

Penthouse Suite

The entire fifth floor, brought together as one space. The house draws close around an intimate circle, personalises itself, adapts. A whole group can find its own rhythm, its own points of reference. Perhaps the most fitting way to inhabit Saint Roch: to make it truly one's home, for the length of a stay.

Restaurants & Bars

One arrives without a precise plan, after the snow or before dinner, and always ends up staying longer than expected.

The light is golden, warm. It lays an amber hue over the dark wood, warms a glass, reveals the patina of an object that has always been there. The seating is deep, the volumes drawn just close enough for conversation to find its own way. The space does not give itself immediately. It is earned.

The Bar

Every house has a space that waits for the others. At Saint Roch, that space is the bar. At the heart of the hotel, the bar invites guests to linger, over a drink that stretches between the snow and the night, in an golden, hushed and resolutely intimate atmosphere.

Prunier Restaurant

The light is low, the tables well spaced, the restaurant invites one to settle in without haste. One enters as into a salon already known. Dinner begins well before the plate arrives, in that suspended moment between the mountain left outside and the warmth found within.

At Saint Roch, one dines well. And returns.

Wellness

After the sharp cold of the mountain, the body gradually recovers its warmth. Tensions release, breathing lengthens. What happens here is not a transformation. It is a letting go. Progressive, deep, effortless.

Stone, wood and water compose an environment without friction. One leaves more grounded, more calm. Wellbeing does not announce itself here, but settles, in silence.

The Spa

The spa is a crossing. From the snow and sharp cold outside, one descends toward an elsewhere one recognises without having lived it. Deep-veined marbles, mosaics, gentle arches evoke the great baths of the Ottoman Empire, stone hammams where time stretched differently, where the body found its own rhythm again after effort.

The Pool

The pool is the heart of the spa. The water is soft, the light filtered, the atmosphere suspended. One slips in after the mountain, rediscovering the body’s silence. The pool shower, lined with a marble mosaic by Pierre Mesguish, is its most striking expression: a work of rare artisanal precision, where each fragment of stone contributes to a coherent, living whole.

The Fitness

The fitness space at Saint Roch is designed for those who wish to maintain their rhythm without leaving the atmosphere of the house. Carefully selected equipment, natural light, volumes suited to personal, focused use.

A pause within the pause, before or after the mountain.
