San Domenico Palace
Taormina, Sicily

About the hotel

The San Domenico Palace Hotel, Taormina, iconic Italian hotel located in the eastern coast of Sicily and recently acquired by the Statuto Group, sits in a truly magnificent setting that has attracted people from ancient times.

Converted in a luxury hotel from a former Dominican monastery of the 15th century, the San Domenico Palace still preserve intact all the original structures and ancient wall that recalls the quietness and peace of the old monastic life.

An enchanting setting of rare magic, a jewel that inspires joy and precious emotions.

Named after the San Domenico’s founder Prince Giovanni Rosso di Cerami, the Restaurant, awarded with two Michelin stars, is located in a private and elegant room with a design reminding the prince’s dining room.

During the summer season it moves to the front terrace overlooking the spectacular bay of Taormina, the San Domenico’s garden and the Etna Volcano.

The finest ingredients, simple or complex recipes, eye-catching presentations, skills, passion, tradition, innovation: these are the ingredients which render the San Domenico’s cuisine so unique.

The 105 Rooms and Suites are located in two different wings: The Garden Wing, built within the former 14th century Monastery and the Grand Hotel Wing, a marvellous building in liberty style, added to the hotel early ‘900.

Both reflect history and tradition without sacrificing modern comforts.
